The goal of this fellowship is to broaden an independent research program in Medical Mycology that is lined up with the tactical goals of the AFGrica Unit.

ScholarshipAward: Fellowship will cover the following:
- This position is a full-time, 5 year agreement, and consists of funds for a postdoctoral research fellow (PDRF), start-up expenses in the very first year for essential devices, and consumable expenses for 3 years that will cover research costs for the PDRF in addition to trainees and extra PDRFs that are hired to the task.

Eligibility: The following requirements need to be fulfilled in order for candidates to be qualified for the scholarship:
- MD/ MBBCh or PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, or another appropriate discipline.
- At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience with some in the field of Medical Mycology.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in worldwide journals.
- Experiencein (co)- guidance of postgraduate trainees and/or junior personnel.
Nationality: SouthAfrican candidates are qualified to get the fellowship.
