University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship
The scholarship is intended for fee-paying applicants who apply at universityadmissions.se by 15 January and are offered admission to a Master’s programme at the University of Gothenburg starting in the autumn semester of 2016.
The Study Scholarship is funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education and covers the tuition fee for a Master’s programme at the University of Gothenburg. Please note that it cannot be used for living expenses, housing etc.
The application period for the 2016/2017 academic year
February 1 – February 13, 2016.

How to apply
When submitting your scholarship application, the following documents must be included:
- Application form (available on this web page in mid-January)
- Copy of passport
- CV, with an overview of academic records and work and/or organisational experience
- Letter of motivation, focusing on academic achievements and academic and organisational and/or professional aims and ambitions (approx. 500 words)
Please note that your academic qualifications must be submitted to University Admissions in Sweden along with your other supporting documents for the programme to which you have applied, according to the instructions at universityadmssions.se.
The University of Gothenburg will have automatic access to your academic qualifications, so we kindly ask you not to attach them to your application for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship. Only the documents described above must be submitted.
To be eligible for the scholarship selection process, you must meet the entry requirements and be admitted to the Master’s programme at the University of Gothenburg for which you have applied. Scholarships are offered to applicants demonstrating a high level of academic performance. The selection process consists of an assessment made by academic and administrative staff at the University of Gothenburg.
If you have applied to the University of Gothenburg as your first choice, you will be given priority.
The selection process is administered in early spring, i.e. around the same time as the applications for study programmes are processed. Notifications are sent out via e-mail around the same time as the admission notifications are distributed.
Scholarship offers are only valid for studies starting in the semester for which you have applied. It is not possible to defer an offer.
Please note that fee-paying applicants who have been offered a scholarship from the Swedish Institute are not eligible for the scholarship.
