WMO is holding a photography competition with the style “Water Ways”, checking out how this essential resource affects our lives. SubmissionGuidelines:.
- All images need to be a minimum size of 10 cms to 15 cms and in high resolution (minimum 300 DPI).
- All images need to be sent in JPEG or TIFF format ( with little compression to maintain image quality.
- Black and white pictures, along with colored pictures, will be accepted.
- N.B. WMO will need a higher-resolution for shortlisted pictures of a minimum of A3 (42 x 30 cm or 30 x 16.5 inches) at 300 dpi, the minimum size of 9000 x 5000 in pixels.
- All images need to be plainly captioned, consisting of a title, an area and the date of the photo
JudgingCriteria:.
Entries will be limited to a shortlist by a WMO panel of specialists in hydrology along with skilled expert photographers. Entries will be evaluated on:
- Technical quality, clearness, and structure
- Visual effect
- Novelty and style for the unanticipated
WMO will release shortlisted images on Facebook, enabling Facebook fans to vote for their preferred images. The competition will likewise be promoted by means of Instagram andTwitter Voting on pictures will be limited to daily per IP address. The WMO jury will have the last word on the 12 images to be included in the WMO Bulletin and the conference. Other shortlisted pictures will be included on the WMO social networks channels.
Deadline:
The due date for entry is 1 December2017 Results will be revealed prior to 15January 2018.
No prize money will be used to winners of the photo contest.
