Applications are welcomed for Durham International Fellowships for Research and Enterprise (COFUND). The plans are COFUNDed by Durham University and the European Union, and incorporate 2 primary fellowship plans:

JuniorResearch Fellowship Scheme: The plan is developed to bring in the most skilled scientists in Europe and beyond, and to construct international networks of scholars with a typical enthusiasm for today’s essential research difficulties.

SeniorFellowship Scheme: This plan is developed to congregate scholars, scientists, policymakers or specialists from worldwide and throughout the complete spectrum of science, social science, arts and liberal arts to attend to styles of international significance in cooperation with Durham’s Research Institutes and scientists.

ScholarshipAward: DurhamInternational Junior Research Fellowships:

JRFs get a training allowance of approximately EUR7k p.a. to money fieldwork and conference participation, research consumables, publication expenses, effect and outreach activities. Access to Durham research centers needed for the task is offered as part of the Fellowship, as concurred by the Institute Director/ Head ofDepartment The arrangement of extra research expenditures for consumables/fieldwork must be talked about with the Durham scholastic host considering that these are not offered by the FellowshipScheme Applicants must make costings clear and the appropriate Institute Director/ Head of Department has to sign these off as part of the application procedure on the assistance proforma to be sent by the host.

DurhamInternational Senior Fellowships

DurhamUniversity will cover the expenses related to the Senior Research Fellow taking a trip to Durham, the UK from their house organization (return fare– economy class) and will offer all Senior Research Fellows with an honorarium (₤ 3,000for 3 months, prorated for much shorter stays, exempt to UK tax). In extraordinary cases, mentor buy-out costs approximately an optimum worth of EUR11,200(prorated for durations of less than 3 months) can be used for by academics who will not be on research leave/sabbatical whilst holding a Senior Research Fellowship at Durham.

Up to 24 Fellowships will be offered in (2018-19): 16 Senior Research Fellowships and 8 Policy and Enterprise Fellowships.

Eligibilityfor the Scholarship:

EligibleCountries: There are no citizenship limitations, however the award of a Fellowship will be conditional on a visa and work authorization being protected, if needed, from the UK Border Agency.

To be qualified, in line with the regards to financing set by Marie Curie,“researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country [i.e. the UK] of the host organization [i.e. Durham University] for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date. Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account” The referral date is 1 July 2018.

DurhamInternational Senior Fellowships

  • Applicants from any discipline are qualified to use
  • Applicants must be active scientists with a recognized or emerging international track record for scholarship and research management
  • Applicants needs to please the EU meaning of an ‘Experienced Researcher’
  • DurhamSenior Research Fellows needs to perform a program of collective research in association with among the Durham’s 9 Research Institutes, with the Durham University Business School, or with among Durham’s other scholastic research groups
  • Applicants needs to send a total application as explained in the Application Procedures
  • Applicants needs to accept the conditions of the Durham Senior Research Fellowships as explained above
