Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowships in Belgium Scholarship Positions 2017 2018

­The KU Leuven Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowships (IF) is now open for the 2017-2018 academic year. The research worker could be of any nationality.

Individual Fellowships are geared toward individual research workers who have a doctorate or equivalent research experience.

The KU Leuven offers its pupils an academic instruction predicated on high level research, with all the intention of preparing them to assume their societal responsibilities.

Course Level: Fellowships can be found to researchers.

Study Subject: Applicants need to indicate at entry point in which of the 8 scientific areas their proposition best fits, in accordance with the research theme. These areas are  Chemistry (CHE), Social Sciences and Humanities (SOC), Economic Sciences (ECO), Information Science and Engineering (ENG), Environment and Geosciences (ENV), Life Sciences (LIF), Mathematics (MAT), Physics (PHY).

Scholarship Award: The indicative call budget in 2017 is €248.70 million (compared to €218.50 million in the 2016 call) and it’s spread as follows:

  • €33.70 million is earmarked for the Global Fellowships, and is spread involving the scientific regions depending on how many eligible proposals received in each of those spaces;
  • €205 million is earmarked for the European Fellowships, and is distributed between its panels (other than for the Society and Enterprise panel) on the basis of how many eligible proposals received by each one;
  • €10 million is earmarked for the Society and Enterprise panel of the European Fellowships.

Eligibility: The following standards should be fulfilled in order for applicants to be qualified for the scholarship.

European Fellowships (EF)

Standard European Fellowships (EF-ST)

  • The research worker has to be a skilled researcher as described under Definitions.
  • The research worker could be of any nationality. No age constraints apply.
  • The research worker must go or have transferred (transnational freedom) from any state to the MS or AC where the beneficiary is situated.

Global Fellowships (GF)

Global Fellowships are composed of an outgoing stage during which the researcher undertakes freedom to your partner organisation in a TC to get a duration of between 12 and 24 months, followed with a required 12-month return period to the beneficiary found in an MS or AC.

  • The research worker has to be a skilled researcher as described under Definitions.
  • The research worker has to be national or long term resident of an MS or AC as described under Definitions. No age constraints apply.
  • The research worker must go or have transferred (transnational freedom) from any state to the partner organisation found in the TC.

The research worker must obey the GF freedom rule:

The research worker mustn’t have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the state of the TC associate organisation where the first outgoing period takes place for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.

As for international organisations found in a TC, the seasoned research worker mustn’t have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline in the exact same associate organisation.

Short stays (for example vacations), compulsory national service (like required military service), and time spent on processes for obtaining refugee status14 aren’t counted.

  • The beneficiary should be found in an MS or AC, and,
  • The associate organisation for the first outgoing stage have to be situated in a TC and is the thing where the first outgoing period occurs.

The associate organisation in a TC must contain a letter of dedication complying with all the minimal conditions defined in section 7 of Part B2 of the proposition to ensure its actual and active engagement in the planned activity, and its particular exact function should likewise be clearly described in the proposition. In instance of a lost letter of obligation, the proposition will be declared inadmissible.

Nationality: The research worker might be of any nationality. No age constraints apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous amount.

English language Requirements: Applicants whose native language isn’t English have to show they are a C-level on the Common Framework of the Reference amount of the Council of Europe. The MEPP programme just accepts two evaluations as valid: TOEFL web-established 100/120 or IELTS 7.0/9.
