The function of the Native Agriculture and Food Systems Scholarship Program is to motivate more Native American university student to go into these fields so that they can much better help their neighborhoods with these efforts.

FirstNations Development Institute (FirstNations) is a not-for-profit company that helps Native American people, their neighborhoods, and Native nonprofits in financial advancement by offering technical support, training, policy, and the awarding of grants.

CourseLevel: These scholarships are offered to pursue a degree program.

StudySubject: These scholarships are granted in agriculture and agriculture-related fields, consisting of however not restricted to agribusiness management, agriscience innovations, agronomy, animal husbandry, aquaponics, ecological research studies, fisheries and wildlife, food production and security, food-related policy and legislation, food science and innovation, cultivation, watering science, nutrition education, and sustainable agriculture or food systems.

Eligibility: Applicants need to satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

  • Applicant needs to be a full-time undergraduate or college student majoring in an agricultural-related field or have the ability to show how their degree program associates with Native food systems.
  • Applicant needs to be tribally-affiliated and able to offer documents.
  • Applicant needs to have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of a minimum of 2.75
  • Applicant needs to show a dedication to assisting his/her neighborhood recover regional food-system control.

Nationality: United States candidates are qualified for these scholarships.
