Applications are invited for PhD Fellowships for Therapeutic Innovations in Africa (CDT-Africa). For 2017, complete scholarship will likely be offered for up to ten extraordinary regional female PhD chaps and up to five extraordinary regional man PhD fellows.
The Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) is a regional (Africa) center of excellence that supports capability development for curative discovery in Africa.
CDT-Africa is supported by the World Bank along with the Government of Ethiopia and sponsored by Addis Ababa University.
Course Level: Fellowships are accessible for pursuing PhD programme.
Study Subject: CDT-Africa supports PhD fellowships through total or partial scholarships in the following applications: Pharmacology, Mental Health Epidemiology, Public Health Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology, Pharmaceutics, Tropical and Infectious Diseases and Biochemistry.
Although all associations within Ethiopia along with the whole of the Africa area are qualified to employ for the scholarship, precedence is provided to these associations which are active associates of CDT-Africa:
Ethiopia associations: Addis Ababa University, Bahir Dar University, Debre Tabor University, Jimma University, Mekelle University, University of Gondar
Regional associations: Makerere University, Mbarara University, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, University of Malawi and University of Zambia
Scholarship Award: Full scholarships can be found.
Number of Scholarships: For 2017, complete scholarship will likely be offered for up to ten extraordinary regional female PhD chaps and up to five extraordinary regional man PhD chaps. Fellowship standing is likely to be subject to regular reviews. Other successful nominees (up to some maximum of 15) will likely be offered partial scholarships, that will support tuition fee, research projects and for a 1-3 months internship of an approved programme of work in an international training association.
Scholarship might be taken in Africa
Eligibility: The applicant must match the demands of Addis Ababa University entrance into a PhD programme together with what’s needed of CDT-Africa. There will even be an interview procedure in which the School running the programme and CDTAfrica team members will participate. Applicants from foreign (other African nations) is going to be interviewed by telephone or Skype. Successful foreign pupils are expected to possess the necessary visa and also to have their qualifications approved in Ethiopia.

English Language Requirement: The nominee needs to possess an excellent command over the English language.
