Applications are invited for Raghunathan Family Fellowship for International pupils at Harvard South Asia Institute for the year 2017-2018. Research issues can cover any period of South Asian history or modern South Asia.
The Harvard South Asia Institute is very happy to provide the Raghunathan Family Fellowship (previously referred to as South Asian Studies Fellowship) to support recent PhDs in the humanities and social sciences related to South Asia.
The Harvard University South Asia Institute (SAI) participates faculty and students through interdisciplinary programs to improve and deepen the teaching and research on international problems important to South Asia.
Course Level: Fellowship can be obtained to pursue PhD programme. This is a yearlong fellowship programme.
Study Subject: Applicants from any area of the humanities or social sciences should employ, provided that their studies are focused on South Asia. Examples of fields of study in the humanities and social sciences comprise philosophy, religion, language, literature, history, cultural studies, the visual arts, economics, linguistics, anthropology, political science, sociology, and human geography, amongst others.
Scholarship Award: Total stipend for just one year: $40,000
Health insurance up to $5,000 and round trip market travel expenses to from South Asia to Boston will even be supplied (for participants living in South Asia just).

Eligibility: The following standards should be matched in order for applicants to qualify for scholarship:
Fellowship supports recent PhDs in the humanities and social sciences related to South Asia. Research issues can cover any period of South Asian history or modern South Asia. Candidates must have the capacity to offer evidence of successful completion of the PhD by June of the year of appointment and may well not be greater than five years past the reception of PhD. Scholars who’ve not had previous chances to obtain Harvard’s resources and who’ve mostly been instructed at establishments in South Asia will soon be prioritized.
Fellows are likely to live in the Cambridge area through the time of the prize and also to actively participate in the occasions and intellectual life of the Institute. Participation comprises giving to the greater Harvard community by teaching, mentoring, or guiding pupils.
