The Kolleg PhD and Post-Doc Scholarships for International Students in Germany Scholarship Positions 2017 2018

The Annemarie Schimmel Kolleg is inviting applications for PhD and postdoctoral scholarships for international pupils. Applicants can employ for a job for an amount of six to twelve months. Included is a functioning space in completely equipped offices.

The Kolleg is a facility for advanced studies financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) that’s focused on the analysis of the Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt and Syria, 1250-1517. For the forthcoming year, AKS will extend its focus both chronologically and geographically. Scholarship Award: The grant for PhD-pupils consists of:

  • A monthly stipend of Euro 1200,-
  • Travel allowance
  • Basic lodging

The fellowship for Post-Doc grads consists of:

  • A monthly stipend of Euro 2300,-
  • Travel allowance
  • Basic lodging

Number of Scholarships: Three PhD scholarships and three junior fellowships (Post-Doc scholars) are accessible.

Eligibility: The following standards should be satisfied in sequence for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Scholarship and fellowship recipients are anticipated to participate actively in the Kolleg’s complete research extents and adopt it’s inter- and multidisciplinary environment. Regular presence in the Kolleg is needed, including attending the two research assemblies and one casual assembly each week. Residency in Bonn or the nearby area is indicated.
