U.S. Embassy Small Grants for Malaysia, 2017 Scholarship Positions 2017 2018

The U.S. Embassy invited applications for the small grants programme to Malaysian applicants.  These grants are available for institutions, organisations and individuals.

The aim of the grants would be to assist applicants in organising cultural programs and activities for Malaysians.

The U.S. Embassy represents the government and people of the United States. The Embassy encourages and facilitates trade involving the United States and Malaysia. The U.S. Embassy promote educational and cultural exchanges.

Course Level:  These grants are available to assist in organising cultural programs and activities for Malaysians.

Study Subject: These grants are awarded in the following field:

  • These programs include American Studies, performing arts, entrepreneurship, empowering women and youths, strengthening democracy, interfaith forums and combating extremism.

Scholarship Award: These grants will cover the following:

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for these grants:

  • Malaysian institutions/organizations/individuals may submit proposals for projects of maximum one-year timeframe.
  • Grants could be manufactured to non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations. Third-country organizations and individuals aren’t eligible.
  • Proposals may include modest administrative expenses, including honoraria/partial salaries of grant implementers, but only when they have been directly linked to the conduct of the particular grant program. General operating expenses, long-term infrastructure costs and undefined miscellaneous or “overhead” expenses aren’t acceptable.
  • Grant funds could be used for seminars and workshops, but proposals must describe the expected audience, content, and timeframe, and justify the activity when it comes to outcome and benefits.
  • Grant funds could be used for the publication of materials, but proposals must describe the audience, content and means of distribution.

Nationality: Malaysian applicants can apply for these grants.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have previous year degree.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must meet the necessary language proficiency requirements of the host institution.
