Partial Summer School Scholarships for International Students in Netherlands, 2017 Scholarship Positions 2017 2018

The Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL) of the University of Amsterdam as well as the T.M.C. Asser Institute is pleased to declare Summer School on ‘The Law and Practice of International Dispute Settlement’. International pupils qualify to use for this scholarship programme.

This summer school is designed for PhD students; other scholars and students interested in the area; members of diplomatic staffs; private and public practitioners in the subject of international dispute resolution; specialists as well as other professionals interested in the area; and members of associated research and practice centers.

The T.M.C. Asser Institute is a foundation (registered on 17 February 1994 with the Chamber of Commerce Haaglanden, The Netherlands, under file number 41158427), created in 1965 as an interuniversity institute for international law in The Hague. The institute is an internationally renowned center of expertise in the areas of public international law, private international law, and European law. It fulfils a vital function in undertaking essential and independent policy-oriented research and supplying a program for international alliance and partnering in fields of law in the frontier of academia and practice.

Course Level: Scholarships can be found to pursue Master and PhD programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are granted for Summer Programme: The Law and Practice of International Dispute Settlement. Eligible nominees are those focusing on problems of international law including dispute resolution, courts and tribunals, settlement of investment disputes, the peaceful settlement of disputes, as well as the judicialization of international law. Students focusing on private international law practices with public interest outcomes will also be eligible, as are pupils in related fields.

Scholarship Award: The AKD law firm has generously offered to finance 5 partial scholarships.

The scholarship covers:

  • €700,- tuition fee;
  • Lunch, 5 days;
  • Course materials;
  • Opening dinner;
  • Closing reception.
  • The scholarships don’t cover prices for journey, lodging and some other expenses.

The partial scholarships are only open to master students and PhD candidates. Eligible nominees are those focusing on problems of international law including dispute resolution, courts and tribunals, settlement of investment disputes, the peaceful settlement of disputes, as well as the judicialization of international law. Students focusing on private international law practices with public interest outcomes will also be eligible, as are pupils in connected areas.

Nationality: International pupils qualify to use for this scholarship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous level.

English language Requirements: Applicants whose first language isn’t English are typically necessary to offer evidence of ability in English at the larger degree needed by the University.
