Global Development Awards Competition, 2017 Scholarship Positions 2017 2018

Ministry of Finance, Government of Japan is supporting Global Development Awards Competition to pursue research. Applicants from Low and Middle-income nations qualify to apply for this scholarship programme.

The Awards Competition recognizes excellence in policy-oriented research, supports research capability development of research workers in developing countries and capital progressive societal development jobs helping marginalized groups in the developing world.

The GDN Global Research Agenda is an essential part of GDN’s new strategy for three primary reasons. First, the worldwide research plan plays the vital function of supplying the organization using a mutual intellectual ground which to structure its capability building actions as distinct elements of an articulated and cohesive whole. Second, prioritizing and fixing an international research plan is a cost effective method to harmonize plans, to joint portfolio components, and also to procure the building up of a stock of knowledge in a predefined group of priority development subjects throughout the developing world.

Eligibility: The following standards should be fulfilled in order for applicants to qualify for scholarship:

Category 1: Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Eligible nations for the ORD contest are those classified as low income or middle-income states.
  • Open simply to researchers that are nationals of an eligible state
  • Open to citizens of eligible countries that are temporarily based in a non-eligible state although not for over five years at the time of 16 July, 2017
  • The upper age limit for many applicants is 45 years by 16 July, 2017
  • Staff members of multilateral and bilateral organizations AREN’T permitted use
  • Previous and present workers of GDN or its Regional Network Partners (RNPs) AREN’T permitted use up till 5 years in the end of the tenure. Previous GDN Board Members, job mentors and members of assessment teams USUALLY ARE NOT qualified to use
  • Similar propositions or papers resulting as merchandises from complete or partial GDN financed actions can’t be submitted for this particular contest
  • Past ORD winners and finalists aren’t permitted apply with all the same or similar research proposition. Winners aren’t permitted submit an application to get an interval of 3 years subsequent to their own entry of an effective proposition
  • Past and present AMC reviewers aren’t qualified to participate in the opposition.

Category 2: Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The MIDP Award is open to any or all development projects being executed in low income countries and lower-middle-income states.
  • The endeavor has to be handled by way of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its headquarters in among the above mentioned eligible nations. The NGO must be non profit.
  • The job execution needs to have began before 01June, 2016.
  • Submissions concerning a recently started project or just a job idea or a feasibility or baseline study will never be looked at.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: The upper age limit for many applicants is 45 years by 16 July 2017.
