Heriot-Watt University PhD scholarships are granted to the UK and International pupils on the grounds of qualification and academic accomplishment. These scholarships are supplied for pursuing research in Languages and Intercultural Studies for the academic year 2017-18 in the UK.

Scholarship Award: These Scholarships will cover the followings:
- PhD fees for Home/EU pupils are £4,195 for full time studies and £2,098 for part time studies.
- PhD fees for international pupils are £14,080 for full time studies and £7,040 part time studies.
Number of scholarship: Three scholarships can be found.

Eligibility: The following standards should be fulfilled in order for applicants to qualify for all these scholarships:
- All applications will likely be reviewed within the applicable section using a shortlisting choice made based on qualifications, the research proposition and the access to a supervisory team.
- Shortlisted applicants should have either the equivalent of a 1st class honours undergraduate degree or a Masters degree with the average mark of 65% or higher and a dissertation mark of 65% or higher.
Nationality: Students are eligible from everywhere in the world.

English Language Requirement: If you haven’t yet analyzed a degree programme which was instructed and examined in the medium of English we require evidence of language proficiency. For IELTS: the minimal overall IELTS score is 6.5 with no score lower than 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
